STOP Gorse!
Gorse is an invasive plant that poses serious ecological and safety risks in Oregon. It crowds out native wetland and streamside vegetation, increases wildfire danger due to its flammability, and degrades pastures and forestlands. As it spreads across both State and Federal lands, gorse threatens wildlife habitat, recreation areas, and the overall health of Oregon’s natural landscapes. Controlling and managing gorse helps restore native vegetation, protect wildlife habitat, and reduces wildfire risks in our community.

The resources linked below are intended to provide first-steps to gorse management. Successful invasive species management must be collaborative, is often long-term, and requires the use of several different techniques as control evolves.
